I am responsible for managing the PhD Research Student Development Programme, which is a series of courses designed to help PhD students to develop the skills and attributes needed to effectively manage their research and to plan for the next step in their career. I also organise various other events aimed at developing the skills of PhD students. In addition to this I am available to talk to and/or advise PhD students at any time.
My background:
I joined Queen Mary in September 2008, after spending three years as a post-doctoral researcher in Boston, USA, investigating the molecular mechanisms of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Prior to that I did a PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Leeds and then spent a year working as an Editorial Assistant at the Journal of Neurochemistry.
